Rolling my own particles



Making particles is a bit of a difficult thing for me, but I'm kind of proud of the results.
First is lightning that I mostly made following a tutorial, this is seen as lightning in the distance in the video. After that, I turned the lightning into a beam emitter that can exist indefinitely, or move from one conduit to another, the latter is in the video.

After making those, I wanted to create something a bit more special. My vehicle is going to have an electrically charged weapon, and my level is also going to have some electricity obstacles.
So I created a sort of electric burst. I did this using photoshop to paint and photobash images of electricity and clouds.

Using the explosion in Unreal's example folder as a guide, I made my own sub UV material and turned it into the little burst you see at first in the video.
