Brainstorming my Game

Throwing around ideas...
  • What if its like a comic
  • what if you build a narrative
  • what if its theme is sci fi
  • what if you have to solve a mystery
  • what if I draw inspiration from Clue
  • What if its like choose your own adventure books
  • What kind of goal would a narrative driven game have...
  • what if the game rewards you for sabotaging your opponents
  • what if it has action/narrative cards players must battle over
  • what if one player plays as the hero, and one as the villain
  • what if those two players must play for districts of a city...
  • players win districts with narrative cards
  • what if you play as a detective
  • what if you must collect evidence, but it might be false evidence?
  • you can get false evidence from other players, they can tamper with your evidence (cards?)
  • what if the game board is round
  • what if you advance by landing on another player
  • what if you can counterattack another player with a card of their gamepiece/color?
  • what if you have to get exact number with dice
  • what if you have to rely on another player to advance, but they don't know it?
I was focusing on theme, what was the story of this game? I couldn't envision a game-play without there being a cause... a narrative or goal of a person or creature instead of game-play rules and a core game-play idea.
The last of these ideas was a bit of a fever pitch of an idea. My brain seems to have snapped into thinking of solid game-play and not theme at the moment, although soon they will both be important.
